Hi Laura,
I was happily surprised when I found your nice site brahee-stomberg a few days ago. That was the first time I had ever seen a picture of our common ancestor Anders Petter Svensson. I’ve seen a picture of his tombstone at West Union Lutheran church at the site findagrave but never a picture of himself.
I’m a descendant of August brother Johan Pettersson. Johan is my great grandpa according to below and I still carrying his name in my surname: Tomas Johansson -> Lennart Johansson -> William Johansson -> Johan Pettersson-> Anders Petter Svensson.
I understand you have been in touch with my father’s first cousins ….
According to the first page I can see that you have been in Sweden:) However, I never heard that any Americans has visited Bragnum Bajaregården. I hope you did not miss chance to visit the birthplace of August Brahee.
Bragnum Bajaregården is now in the hands of my father Lennart who will be 90 years old in two weeks. No one has been living at the farm for many years. My uncle Robert was a farmer on Bragnum Bajaregården, but he did not live there since his wife wanted to live in the bigger village named Vara. Robert and his wife newer got any children so he gave the farm to my father a few years ago.
If you have more pictures of Anders Petter Svensson of any kind I would love if you can share these to me.
Johan Petterssons photo album is still located in Bragnum Bajaregården and if you want, I can send you all relevant pictures? I also have the full historical ancestry record of August Brahee. If you don’t have it I can send it if you want.
By the way, the old Swedish word ‘Jordvänder’ describes a person who are more owned by the property and acres than vice versa. A person described as ‘jordavänder’ loves his acres and property more than god.
Best regards
Tomas Johansson

Wilma wrote that August said his father, Anders Svensson, would walk to East Union church each Sunday for services. He stopped at Skätts (his daughter) to rest and visit, after church. That was at least 5 miles, if not more one way.
